Sailors of Kronstadt

After the sweeping success of the October Revolution, the growing bureaucracy & dire starvation caused by "War Communism" led to growing frustrations & protests amongst the proletariat. The sailors at the critical port of Kronstadt wrote a petition demanding, among other things, an end to War Communism, sufficient rations for everyone, & to return power to the local soviets (elected councils). The great Red Bureaucracy saw this as a threat to the fledgling communist experiment, if not their iron fist, & under a farcical story of conspiring with the Tsarists & other foreign adversaries, Lenin crushed the Communists & Anarchists who dared hope for the Revolution's original intentions with artillery & machine guns commanded by Trotsky.
